?Doctor Who? movie in the works

Yes, it is true, a ‘Doctor Who’ movie in the works! But fans of the BBC?s television series may be disappointed as the current Doctor, played by Matt Smith, may not be involved. Nor follow the TV series? story arcs by Steven Moffat and Russell T. Davies, whom resurrected the show six years ago. Instead, the ?Doctor Who? movie will undergo a radical transformation as Doctor Who will start from scratch by David Yates, director of the last four Harry Potter films. Yates announced that he is developing the Doctor Who movie, looking for writers and will take the next 2 to 3 years to prepare. The film version will be a stand-alone, offering a whole new take on the longest running science fiction series in television history. Doctor Who was first introduced on the BBC in 1963 and ran non-stop through 1989. The campy series pitted the famous Time Lord against robot-like Daleks, Cybermen, and other nasty monsters in rubber suits.
